Our Gate motors are all run via battery. This is a safety feature, so the gate is still operational during a power outage. The difference between models is the power source used to charge the battery. Low Voltage: Recommended—12v run in conduit 100mm underground to an external power point (typically within meter box or outside the house). Premier Gates completes this during installation, and the Quoted price reflects this. This is the most popular and very safe option (like exterior Christmas lights). Note: If an exterior power point is required, we can arrange for this to be done by a licensed electrician and the quoted price reflects this.
240v: Requires additional work if not already available—Plug directly into power point at motor. Unless already available, mains 240v power must be run in a trench at least 600mm deep from the source, typically in the house. This work must be completed by an Electrician, and it is not included in our quotes. It is a great option if it is already in place.
